There can be little doubt that a huge number of the tragedies that have occurred in history, on both a personal and even national level, have been caused by words; either spoken or written.
In this age of email, text messaging, immediate contact with anyone, no matter where they are, it would be wise to remember this. It’s so easy for things to be taken out of context, or for a comment that’s typed with a chuckle and smile to be taken seriously, with very different consequences.

When things go wrong, how convenient it is to find someone else to blame. Or maybe we blame the circumstances, some thing. It lets us off the hook. It’s not my fault! I am not responsible!
A long time ago, I was given a faxed copy of a short essay by Robert Hastings titled The Station. It was a poor quality copy, but it really spoke to me, and I have never forgotten it. It speaks such volumes about the way we deceive ourselves, I had to get permission to include it in my book, Your Life Manual.
Forgiveness is a concept that is widely misunderstood. For many, the old phrase “forgive and forget” would be their definition – especially the “forget” part. In reality, it couldn’t be further from the truth. Forgiving has nothing to do with forgetting.
One of the side effects of our modern way of life is that we seem to have little time to stop and smell the roses. More specifically, time to think about where we are; where we are about to go; and where we would like to go. Think about what is important in life.
